What Happens as the Wheels on the Bus Goes Round...

I can't wait till next year (I'll be 17) then I can start driving lessons. One step closer to stop having to use public transport. The day I have my license and a car, I will be driving pass every bus stop with a big smile on my face like this. -------------------------->
Also I will be using the "I've got no petrol excuse" when someone asks for a lift, that is what my brother always tells me.

Have you ever heard of the term "African time"? That is the clock I run on. It's in my genes to be late, I can't help it. So I'm always running for the bus because I set off late. That moment when everyone watches you run for the bus and you miss it; I look up at the passengers on the bus and they look back at like I'm some kind of failure. It's painful.

On the occasion I do manage to get on the bus on time I sometimes forget my igo pass (a pass to prove you aren't over 16 years of age) argghhhhh! The evil bus driver makes me pay adult price although I'm in my uniform... WHAT! Suddenly the bus pulls into the bus station

I get on another bus...

  • This bus is always packed.
  • It smells
  • There's always a woman with 123456789 kids who cry

  • When I have a spare seat next to me I give the person who just came on the bus the "don't even dare sit next to me or else" look --->
  • The seat next to me is for my bag not for you
  • It doesn't always work and someone who hasn't showered decides to sit next to me when there are other seats on the bus... WHY?
  • When it snows, children throw snow balls at the bus which scares the crap out of me
  • Sometimes there is that one person that decides to play there music out loud, once again... WHY?
If there are any bus drivers reading this, why do you get happy when you see another bus driver? Is there some kind of connection you guys have that us non-bus drivers don't? Is it the way they steer their bus? Or is it the way they make the bus passes? I do not know.

Nail Post - Caviar Nails

I love messing about with my nails even though I get told to take my nail polish off as soon as I walk through my school entrance. Well, I saw my friend Amy with these on and I found them so pretty. Surprisingly I've never seen them before! After a while I start messing about with the beads but they do stay on and should last quite a while - if you're careful, the thing is... I'm not. It's really easy too. All you have to do is apply two base coats then pour over the beads while the 2nd coat is still wet.  I bought it in Superdrug for £5.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Papa's Got a Brand New Excuse

This is a TV show that never gets old. It was created before I was born and I've been watching it as long as I can remember and still laughing. Will Smith is that guy. I never cry at films, TV shows or songs but this scene comes close to bringing a tear in my eye.

The Trainer Hype

This is my picture but not my shoes, I don't have large feet.

What trainers are you wearing today? New Balance? Air max? Nike Huarache's? You name them! I see them everywhere and to be honest I do love them; although I don't really wear them myself.
It's funny how we wear shoes which are meant for different types of sports, casually. I don't see anyone working up a sweat going shopping in town when they are wearing Nike huaraches or dribbling a basketball on the way to the corner shop in their Jordans.

Do you wear them because they're comfy? Or because you they're nice? Or is it because you got sick of wearing ordinary shoes and just wanted a change? That's what I've heard a lot of people say. It was mainly boys that used to wear these types of shoes but it has become increasingly popular with girls. They even wear them with dresses! Air max came back in fashion a few months ago... I'm sure you've got pictures rocking them on the way to nursery. I've heard people say things like "air maxes are getting killed out". So therefore after a while they probably won't be seen frequently on people's feet, but like all trends they will come back in a few years’ time.

Songs of January

The end of January is near and it has been a great start to 2013 for me. It's like I've gone back in time this month. I've been listening to a lot of Destiny Child songs, old Jay Z and Kanye West songs. It's like an unwritten rule for me listen to music every chance I get, It's the second favourite thing I love to do after playing and creating music. Here are the songs that I cant stop listening to this month:

A Rihanna song was definitely going to up here and most likely will be every month. Rihanna - What Now

Jay Z - Encore                                                              Kanye West - All Falls Down feat. Seleena johnson

The reason why I probably listened to a lot of Destiny Child this month is probably because of their Reunion. You should definitely listen to their brand new song Nuclear, it's really good. It has a 90s feel to it which makes it brilliant! I'm glad they stuck to their roots.

Destiny's Child -
Lose My Breath
Say My Name
Independent Women
Jumpin' Jumpin'

You Me At Six - Underdog
It's not the type of music I'd normally go for but I was making a video in ICT and  I needed a rock song to go with it. Then my friend showed me this and I immediately loved it.

It's how you wear it, NOT where you bought it from

I wanted my next post to be more suitable to boys because the majority of my posts would probably be more interesting to girls. Therefore I went round asking different boys where they shop; what type of clothing they wear; what their favourite shop is etc. The most popular one was obviously Topman. Selfridges came up and Primark came up (but they said they were "joking") this got me thinking...

She is huge style inspiration and we have all seen those girls who dress like her with the blonde curly hair, the red lipstick and wearing Timberlands/Nike Jordans with dresses. And I don't blame them! Last year was a great year for Rita Ora as she was working on her music career lots of people were waiting on her new releases. Back to Life, Back to Reality

Right so I've been back at school for a week now, back to the bitchiness (why are us girls so bitchy? Don’t even try and deny it), the endless assessments and homework. I'm so tired. It feels like I've been there for weeks. The dark mornings don't help either. It took me a while to get back into my sleeping pattern; I'd be awake till like 4 in the morning.

On Wednesday my poster fell on top of me in the middle of the night... I thought someone was trying to kill me. If someone broke into your house, would you fight them off or go and hide? My first instinct would be to try and fight them off. Once my brother came home late but I thought it was an intruder and I grabbed my guitar ready to attack him. I turned into some kind of ninja!

It's been just over week from when I started this blog. Thank you everyone for reading, commenting and sharing... hope you had a great week back to reality!

The Mainstream "Hipster"

I was talking about this with my friends in school. I don't really know how people identify "hipsters" or someone who tries to be "hipster". So I went to find out the meaning of it.

What does "hipster" mean?

Oxford Dictionary - a person who follows the latest trend and fashions.

Urban Dictionary -  a subculture of men and women typically in their 20's and 30's that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter.

There are a lot of hate blogs about hipsters I don't really see what is wrong with someone being original. I think it's a good thing. But I have noticed those self confessed hipsters who are all over tumblr. I thought hipsters were individual.

Then why do they all look the same?  They're not really that individual really, it's so easy that I wrote a guide.

How to Become "Hipster"

  1. Have messy flat hair with a carhartt beanie (can also be comme des fuckdown, hype, supreme).
  2. Wear an over-sized tie dye t-shirt or no shirt if you want to be super hipster!
  3. Tuck them into some disco pants.
  4. Wear some HUF socks with weed on them.
  5. Wear any colour air max or creepers.
  6. Join the outfit together with a huge army jacket.
  7. Accessorize with a bagpack, casio watch, cross earrings and like a thousand other piercings... remember the more piercings the more hipster.
Tips: buy ALL your clothes from oxfam and vintage shops

this girl hates herself because liking yourself is too mainstream.

Have fun being hipster! :) This a joke don't get offended, I don't care if you do anyway.

Big Girls vs Skinny Girls

Are you healthy though?

If I got £1 for every time I hear this topic I would be sooo rich by now. "A real woman has curves”, “Thigh gaps are hot" "Only a dog wants bones” blah blah bleurgh! I'm sick of hearing phrases like this. I decided to write about this because it really annoys me when I hear girls calling other girls and putting the ideas in their head that there is something wrong with their size... when there clearly isn't. What happened to girl power?

They banned underweight models for a reason! They promoted bad lifestyles so why are we encouraging girls who don't need to, to lose weight? I've seen a lot of girls putting pictures on the Internet in their underwear with a caption "I love my curves" but then they've later on called other girls who are slimmer for posting pictures like that... WHAT IS GOING ON?
It's not right to encourage someone to stay unhealthy if you are a true friend. If you knew someone who is underweight and is unhealthy which impacts on their life would you tell them they are fine the way they are or the truth? It's exactly the same as telling overweight girls to stay the way they are when it's affecting their health. There is a right way to go about it though. I hear too many people saying that they need to lose or gain weight when they are fine the way they are.

It doesn't matter what others think. Whether you are on the larger side or on the smaller side the real question is "are you healthy though?"

I've kind of been ranting but oh well, arguments like this annoy me. This was the best way to let it out. Anyway basically there are no winners in the "Big Girls vs. Skinny Girls" Match.

Outfit of the Day #1

Today I  had a quiet day out with my family. As soon as I got home I was the giddiest person ever. I think it's because I had loads of orange lucozades on the way home.

I'm back to school tomorrow and I'm actually quite excited. I genuinely enjoy school; it gives me something to do during the instead of lying on the couch and eating food and drinking thousand of packets of capri-suns.

Bowler Hat - Urban Outfitters
Denim Shirt - Some shop in Spain
Bow tie - My friend made it
Cardigan - Vintage
Skirt - New Look
Clark's Desert Boots - Office

Rihanna Through the Ages

The hair chameleon.

I'm a big fan of Rihanna and I would say she is probably one of the most influential woman right now when it comes to her style. I've always been impressed with how well she carries of hairstyles. Almost every time I see her on the T.V or magazine she brings something different to the table. I decided to look through the majority of her different haircuts over the years from 2005-2012.

Click on the pictures to make them bigger.

I've always loved it when girls can have really short hair and look great. Rihanna looks amazing with the pixie crop. I love this more than her long curls, it really brings out the features of her face. Is there anything she can't pull off? Definitely her best style yet.

When she dyed her hair red she had so many different styles. It went from long and straight to it being short with shaved sides. Dying your hair this bright is definitely a risk and will make one stand out. It can look tacky but in her case it looks brilliant!

The edgy faux hawk has been attempted by many. I think the contrast between the blond curls and shaved black sides works so well together.

This hairstyle was very popular in 2009. Obviously, she was able to rock this rockstar hairstyle. Rated R was released in 2009 which was a different side to her and this look reflected the album so well.

She had this style in the take a ow video. It really gives her that boyish look. I really love how the big fringe goes across her head.

This would probably be my least favourite however I do think she made the bob look fierce and wonderful.

Here she is looking very young and innocent. I also love the  lip gloss she used.

She once again went for the bob. Her eyes really stand out in this picture, also her makeup does compliment her hairstyle.
