Are you healthy though?
If I got £1 for every time I hear this topic I would be sooo rich by now. "A real woman has curves”, “Thigh gaps are hot" "Only a dog wants bones” blah blah bleurgh! I'm sick of hearing phrases like this. I decided to write about this because it really annoys me when I hear girls calling other girls and putting the ideas in their head that there is something wrong with their size... when there clearly isn't. What happened to girl power?
They banned underweight models for a reason! They promoted bad lifestyles so why are we encouraging girls who don't need to, to lose weight? I've seen a lot of girls putting pictures on the Internet in their underwear with a caption "I love my curves" but then they've later on called other girls who are slimmer for posting pictures like that... WHAT IS GOING ON?
It's not right to encourage someone to stay unhealthy if you are a true friend. If you knew someone who is underweight and is unhealthy which impacts on their life would you tell them they are fine the way they are or the truth? It's exactly the same as telling overweight girls to stay the way they are when it's affecting their health. There is a right way to go about it though. I hear too many people saying that they need to lose or gain weight when they are fine the way they are.
It doesn't matter what others think. Whether you are on the larger side or on the smaller side the real question is "are you healthy though?"
I've kind of been ranting but oh well, arguments like this annoy me. This was the best way to let it out. Anyway basically there are no winners in the "Big Girls vs. Skinny Girls" Match.
